7 Tips to Raise your LSAT score today

These tips have helped past students see immediate improvements; some students have gone up 5 questions the same week!

Tip 1

Slow Down

While you want to ANSWER every question, it’s ok if you don’t read every question.  Many people will get more questions correct overall if they focus on accuracy, as opposed to rushing to read all the questions.

Tip 2

Read Out Loud

Most people skip words when they read.  Perhaps helpful in your daily life, but devastating to your LSAT score.  Reading out loud can help you notice if you skip over words.  Better yet, read to a friend - they can help you know if you’re missing words while you read.

Tip 3

Calm Down

Modern life can be hectic and frazzled - take some time to unwind before studying or taking a PT (or real LSAT!!!). Here's some ways to reset before you start your practice.

  • First, put your phone down. It is just a dopamine creator - the opposite of what we want.
  • Next, try to decompress from the rest of your day before you start your LSAT prep. That could be doing yoga, going outside for a walk or just getting some fresh air.

Even 5 or 10 minutes to unwind can help you start your LSAT prep focused and refreshed!

Tip 4

Treat it like a game

Questions can be viewed as challenges you can overcome, not as a value judgement on you as a person, an intellectual, etc.  Figure out what you need to turn your wrong answers into correct answers and level up your score.

Tip 5

Keep constantly improving

That is, get help when you are stuck.  You shouldn’t stay stuck - there are lots of resources out there and your time is too valuable to be studying without progress.

Tip 6

Slow and Steady

The LSAT is a humbling test!  The person trying to add 2 or 3 points at a time will go much farther and raise their score FASTER than the person trying to add 10-20 points ASAP…. Don’t be the second person!!!

Tip 7

Dream Big

For some reason people are afraid of success!  Dream big and maximize your score!  Even if you are just going to the school down the street, get a great score and have the school pay (at least part of) your tuition.Â
